The SNY guys touched on this but I had been thinking about it since turning on the TV yesterday to find the Nationals in town: this is exactly the kind of reboot we needed to get things back on track.

Nothing better after a couple of craptstic stinkfests than to beat up on someone. Ok, so Friday’s game almost got away (Frankie’s trying so hard to make us all need pacemakers that he must own stock in Medtronics), and today’s game was more about Washington beating up on themselves. But a win’s a win, and as the last two seasons have shown us, every game counts.

It’s encouraging to see Big Pelf come back and not leave in the 4th after giving up 6 runs, and it’s really nice watching Bobby Parnell develop right before our eyes. And that sick, Sick, SICK double play Murphy nailed makes me think that he may just become an outfielder. Even Wright- his defense is so good that I’m ok waiting out his slump… he leaves a lot of ducks on the pond, but he saves a LOT of runs. In fact, I’m curious to know the differential, if it can be measured.

This next week should be absolutely huge- three at home against the Marlins (last licks may come in handy when those mofes just won’t die in the 9th) then three in Philly… Hopefully the Mets can complete the sweep tomorrow. Shouldn’t be too hard- after all, they do have Julian Tavares, who really came up huge for us when he was with the Braves last season.

C’mon, Good Ollie!
