Thank God for those insurance runs, eh? And that bullpen! I was still close to reaching for the Rolaids but it was pretty remarkable- those were exactly the same kinds of situations last year’s bullpen would not have been able to pitch its way out of. Putz and Frankie might have pushed their luck to the limit but they went and got the job done again! Oh, and while the 9th was playing out, I read that Wagner’s rehab’s going well and that he intends to make the team again this season… His quote was that he knows he’s not going to get any saves but that he just “want[s] to help.” Having JJ and K-rod in the 8th and 9th is sick enough- to have Wagner set the table for them would almost be cruel to opposing teams. Gotta love a guy who wants to win so badly that he doesn’t care about being the closer anymore and will let the team use him wherever he’s needed most. I’ve always thought Wagner was a class act.
