Hello world! or, It’s supposed to look like crap- it’s spring training…

You may have been here before. You may not.

Whatever the story, we’re trying to make another go of it. The site in general is a work in progress as of right now, particularly the look and feel… hopefully by the time the season begins, we’ll have (most of) the bugs ironed out.

In case it’s not obvious, this is a blog devoted to the New York Mets, or more specifically, those of us who- no matter how much we pretend we’re pissed at them- really do love those losers. We, the long-suffering fans of the blue and orange ones are a unique bunch, even among the long-suffering. Sure, Cubs fans are technically longer-suffering… but they’re just pathetic. I don’t mean that as an insult, it’s just… well, when even Mets fans feel sorry for you, there’s just no other way to describe you than “pathetic.”

I mean, for real. Would this crap EVER happen at Shea (or Citi, or whatever we’re going to wind up calling the place)? Oh, God, I hope not. I mean I really hope that even the dumbest Mets fan ever to walk the face of Planet Earth would see Alou coming and think, “dude, if he doesn’t catch that, I might just have to throw it at him,” as opposed to, “maybe I can get Alou to sign this for me in a sec- uhp, whuh, NOOOOOOO…”

Anyway, please keep coming back and hopefully you’ll be entertained. But keep this in mind- if you want stats and thoughtful analysis, that’s what MetsGeek and Matthew Cerone’s Mets Blog are for. Sure, I might occasionally bust out a stat or two, or even bend stats to make a point, but for the most part, what you’ll find here won’t really involve thinking about baseball so much as how you feel about it, particularly about the Mets.
